Moving around this Website

The Places of Interest (POI’s) can be selected by Name  (use the search box on the Front Page), or be Type of POI (Classification).  Select a Classification from the title bar to see all the POI’s of that type on one page. You can then click on a POI on the map or on the boxes below the map to go to an individual POI.

On individual POI pages, the selected POI shows as a small pink square. Icons then show other nearby POI’s. Each POI webpage will have  a photo, a description and a zoomable Ordnance Survey map showing the POI and boxes below the map listing other POI’ s nearby. The POI description will also contain links to other websites giving more detailed info about the POI.

 Ways to Use this Website

  1. Select a noteworthy POI then see if there are any other interesting POI’s nearby that you could visit in the same trip
  2. Select a Classification that you’re particularly interested in – eg waterfalls. Then plan a trip to visit one or more of them. Again, you can also see if there are any other nearby POI’s that you could visit at the same time
  3. Baggers – like similar specialist websites, we expect that some people will set themselves a challenge to “tick off” a number of sites or the whole of a Classification. We will be setting up a Bagger table to record both adult and child Bagger achievements
